I would recommend including here: yeast infections and UTIs (urinary tract infections) are the common things to look out for if you've been having sex, especially as consequences to less-than-stellar hygiene, and which good hygiene will usually (but not always) prevent. Washing hands before and after sex is always a good idea, and washing toys also.
Just out of curiosity, what's the problem with washing a vulva with soap?
